Thankful Thursday to remind me that I have lots to be thankful for. Here’s my list-
For friends

On Monday, when our garage was broken into, and my husband’s bike was taken, we were supposed to go on a hike and barbecue with our friends. That did not happen. But. The fact that we have lovely friends who were concerned for us, and would have liked our company…that makes me thankful to them. Also on Saturday night we had an impromptu dinner with a friend at home with take out pizza…which was lovely, if totally unexpected. Friends make our lives better and I am super thankful for them.
For Hunger

This week I started my 6 week calorie deficit. After bulking for 4 months, it is time to get rid of the excess fat to be in good shape for summer. Tuesday was Day 1, after the debauchery of the long weekend. I know to eat real nutritious food (aka non-processed for most part), and I survived just fine. But I did feel hunger rear its head in my tummy a few times, especially at night. And for that I was thankful because it means that my body did feel the difference of fewer calories, and that means I am on my way to a deficit. Perfect…with this cold spring (it’s 10 degrees outside!), I have the time to get in shape before it gets super hot 🙂
For flower petals everywhere

With spring flowers shedding from trees, there are some beautiful sights of roads and sidewalks being strewn with petals, and it’s just surreal…like we are in some kind of a wonderland. I love to stop and take such sights in…what a delight. Thank you spring for making everything so beautiful.
My Painting Series

I am finally done painting my series of 9 still life’s for an upcoming Studio Tour in less than 2 weeks! It was a great delight to paint these, and overall I am super happy. Now, I just need to varnish my paintings, and get them labeled and framed…I learnt so much painting these. I know I will be experimenting with some of these techniques more over the summer in my sketchbook. Very happy and relieved and thankful!
For getting unstuck soon enough

Last Thursday, after I parked my car on the street, and went away for an errand, I came back to my car being sandwiched between 2 big vehicals- a van that was 2 inches from the back of my car, and a pick up truck that was maybe 8 inches away but also jutting out way more than my tiny car. I was not up to driving it an inch at a time to get it out…so I waited for either of the drivers to show up, and was hoping I wouldn’t be there for ever. It was, as you can guess, super frustrating! But, thankfully the pickup truck driver showed up in 10 minutes time, and I was able to drive away after that…so so thankful for not a long wait. I do not want to think of the possibility of neither of them coming any time soon!
