Thankful Thursday with my water bottle

Thankful Thursday on a Thursday…guess I have my days right this week 🙂

Here is my list for the week…

I found my water bottle!

I found my lost water bottle in the lost and found.
Reunited with my beloved water bottle!

I know this is not a big deal for most people but I absolutely love my water bottle. And so, when I started looking to pack it for gym on Monday morning, I realized that I had forgotten it at my yoga class on Saturday. I was pretty bummed. One, because I feel its my perfect bottle- shape, size etc. And two, because I don’t want to have to buy something if I can help it. So I had to swing by my yoga class before gym, and thankfully it was sitting and waiting for me in the lost and found bin. I gave my beloved bottle a quick hug and we were on our way, reunited again 🙂

My reading mojo is back

Current read: The Pelican History of Canada
My current read

This is from my yesterday’s post. I had a hard time finding time and energy to pick up a physical book last week. I was too distracted and busy to do so. But it was also hurting and annoying me that I was feeling that way. I NEED books in my life for me to function with clarity and joy. And I could feel it missing. Thankfully Shakespeare’s light and breezy comedy As You Like It brought me back to picking up a book and transporting myself into its world again. And life is good!

I found a heart potato

A heart shaped potato put a smile
There was a heart potato in my stash!

I made roasted roots for dinner last night- potatoes, parsnips, onion and beets. All the peeling of the tiny parsnips was time consuming, and a tiny bit annoying. I wanted to get the veggies in the over quickly and it just wasn’t happening. That’s when I spotted this heart shaped potato in my pile, and it brought a smile to my face. All the impatience and annoyance disappeared, and I was brought back to the present moment reminding me that I had good organic vegetables to nourish me and my family, and I had the privilege of preparing them in my kitchen…that is a gift, and I was thankful for this little heart potato for reminding me that.

For weekends at home and Mad Men binging

Source: AMC

This weekend was a very at-home one for me and my family. My son did not have any programs to be at, and nowhere really to go to. So we stayed home a lot, napped, baked sourdough rye bread (me!), went for walks around the neighbourhood, and watched like 5 episodes of Mad Men on Netflix…the best kind of weekend! Yes, my husband and I recently started watching this classic, and we are enjoying it a lot. And feeling aghast and some of the stuff as well- it sure was a different world! But just having a relaxing weekend with no obligations was amazing. And I topped off my weekend with a dinner with a very dear friend at a lovely restaurant- a perfect weekend indeed!

For the green stuff

Signs of spring in my garden
Crocuses and tulips peeking out in my garden

I am so very weary of the low temperatures we are still having. I sometimes feel hopeless, that there ever will be a spring. I know, that’s ridiculous, but when it’s April and still cold after ALL THOSE MONTHS of already having a winter, one is allowed to feel that, no? But then all the green popping out of the ground, and the maple trees with flowers on them remind me that whether or not the temperatures reflect it yet, spring is indeed happening in the natural world. And it will ultimately get warm, and the grass will turn green and flowers bloom everywhere. I just have to wait patiently. Thank you nature for reminding me and giving me hope.

Thats my list for today. What are you thankful and hopeful for?
