Stories, ideas and musings to make sense of this thing called life..

Thankful Thursday Miscellany

Thankful Thursday is here once again, so we can think about the blessings in our lives…

Let’s see. I am thankful that…

I got a massage

I ended up last week with a much needed massage! And it was fabulous as always. My neck was feeling tight, and my upper back has some very serious knots from working out. My masseuse managed to get me to loosen up quite a bit. And we had a great chat…a lovely treat to end the week 🙂

I don’t feel much with a Swedish massage. I need the massage therapist to really dig into my knots with their finger pressure for me to feel the kind of pain that makes the whole experience worth it…not in a sadistic way, but a therapeutic way…and my massage therapist has the perfect pressure for me. So I am a happy gal for the next few weeks!

I am feeling productive and motivated again…

Set up for blind drawing with ink in my sketchbook
Me having fun with blind drawing with ink!

If you read my post from a couple of days ago, I talked about how just making a plan on my Trello board with exact activities for each day of this week, and that is really helping me get stuff done. I have direction. I have stuff to do. I thought about it, and it’s working great. And I am being very efficient with my time- no wasting. And loving this feeling of having done good stuff at the end of the day.

It’s warm this week!

It’s sunny and warm outside today…
Sunny and warm this morning!

Finally, the deep freeze seems to have shifted! From being in double negative digits every single day, we are finally in single positives, and it feels like such a gift stepping out the door, and not wanting to cover my face completely. Or putting on two pairs of pants. Not having ALL THOSE LAYERS is great! Thank you weather gods!

Having found these beautiful tomatoes

Beautiful tomatoes are inspiring for me to draw them in many ways
These beautiful tomatoes make for good drawings…and yummy food 🙂

These tomatoes are my muse, and have made it into two drawings already! I mean, do I want to really cook them? Or just paint and draw them? Hmmm…I know the right answer here, but I don’t want to accept it 🙂 It is quite a treat for me when I find beautiful produce to draw. It makes me appreciate my life more to have fresh fruits and vegetables to be inspired by, and nourish my body with.

My friend thought of me

Ring light tripod that I can make great use of for my work
My friend lent me this ring light tripod…without me asking!

And lent me this ring light with phone holder that I was contemplating buying because I make videos of myself painting or flipping through my sketchbooks for Instagram. And she had it ready for me and gave it to me without me having asked her…how very thoughtful of her- no? I was touched, and feeling thankful to have friends who look out for me…

And that is my list today. How does yours look?
