It’s time for another edition of Thankful Thursday. Another everyday life list- nothing earth shattering. Just like last week 🙂
But I believe the magic of gratitude lies in being thankful for the everyday blessings, which make the very fabric of life richer, and more meaningful.
So here we go!
I have a good book to read!
My friend lent me this book. Since I am in the busy season of my life right now, I am happy to have a book that:
Is an easy read
Is easy to get into
Is well written
Has small chapters that are quick to read
I can easily pick it up (without dreading heaviness in the text), and read a chapter or two when I have time, or when my brain needs a break from things. So thank you friend for knowing that I needed such a book right now.
And it helps that it’s a mystery unfolding, so I am excited to know what happens next!
No Jackets needed yet
I know this one is, maybe a bit controversial. It’s October and to be able to go out and about in just a hoodie or not seems like a gift from the weather gods. Living in Canada jackets are the way of life. So any unexpected respite from that is something to be thankful for- for me.
Groceries
I know. This is so very mundane, right?
But groceries are expensive. And I am thankful that we are able to get whatever we want to get.
Easily in our neighbourhood.
Of great quality.
And not have to sweat out the expenses- doesn’t mean it doesn’t make me balk at the increase in prices!
My Drawing Practice
Oh the joy of my life at the end of the day. When I pick up one of the various sizes of sketchbooks I have lying around. I find something in the kitchen or my living room to pose for me. And a pencil: always there on my side table.
I draw while I talk to my family, or if we are watching TV. I just love that by the time we have to go to bed, I have a drawing that I felt so relaxed making with no expectations except to have my hands moving and my eyes observing…it sure is a delight of my day.
Having a Gym to go to
Another delight of my day…even though I dread going there every morning!
But I do take myself there- without heeding to the voice in my head saying- home is nice…let’s just stay here.
I do feel great once I’m there, and even better when I’m leaving!
Knowing that I gave the gift of time and effort in keeping my body in good shape.
Knowing that I did one hard thing in my life.
Knowing that I am stronger.
So thankful for my gym…
