Stories, ideas and musings to make sense of this thing called life..

Slow Summer Pace

I can’t believe June is wrapping up shortly…it seems to have flown since the super cold first day of June when I spent the day outside at the art show talking to people about my art…

I have to say, I have kind of been lazy with work side of things, or atleast it feels like that after the super hectic pace leading up to the art show.

I am doing more learning and website stuff- social media courses, lead magnets, website clean up. And some sketchbook stuff too. So it doesn’t feel like much tangible stuff has happened. But I am ok with this slow pace.

What has really taken off is my yoga practice. Especially since I bought the summer pass for my yoga studio and have been doing Ashtanga yoga sequence every weekday morning, and more restorative and flows on the weekend. I can seriously feel progress in 2 weeks already! It’s crazy how quickly the body learns when given the consistent opportunities and practice…I am amazed!

Reading has been good- I am so proud that I managed to finish the super dense historical non fiction “The Bookseller of Florence” by Ross King in time for it’s bookclub discussion last Friday. And I was not sure I captured the book enough to participate in the discussion, just because this book was so heavy in details and so varied in the world it captured…but, I had a lot to say about books, paper, Renaissance, classics etc.- I was very pleasantly surprised! And I really enjoyed the discussion- it got really lively and entertaining.

This week I am reading Shakespeare’s Henry VI Part 1- apparently not a great play by Shakepseare’s regular standards. But since I am on a mission to read the whole tome, I get to read all of them- the good and the bad.

I have four books coming for me from the library this week, so I know July will be well supplied for my reading life 🙂

Life is overall a little bit relaxed with no more school for my son. I am enjoying the relax news of it, and thinking of more adventures to go on- a movie in the theatres? A hike over the weekend? Maybe a day at the amusement park…

So many possibilities, but what do I have the energy for?

And most importantly…how hot is it going to be?!!!
