The books for the rest of the year…I know exactly what I am going to be reading and listening to finish off the year, and I am excited for all that is in store for me.
I started reading William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar yesterday. It should be done this week.
I also borrowed George Saunders’ Lincoln in the Bardo from my friend, so I have that to get through. I have started it. Having read the first few chapters, I am already drawn in into the very interesting style of writing that the author has used in this book.
Besides these two book, I only have my classics to get through for the rest of the year: Thackeray’s Vanity Fair, and Ovid’s Metamorphoses. I will also fit in Shakespear’s long poem Venus and Adonis somewhere in December as per my Shakespeare Reading project plan.
That is it for reading paper books.
I also like to round off my audiobook with something special- an epic audiobook of some classical importance. This year, it’s going to be Eiji Yoshikawa’s, translated from Japanese audiobook, Musashi. Sitting at 53.5 hours I would be very happy if I am able to finish this epic this year. But if not, I would finish it off in early January, and I am ok with that. I started this book yesterday, and it’s already exciting! I have been through one-third of it before already, but it got left in the rush of life at that time. So I know how good it is. This time I plan to hear it from start to finish.
And that is all.
The plan is in place.
The books are at my disposal.
Now, all I have to do is enjoy them for the rest of the year…
