Mother’s Day 2025

I am writing this on the Mother’s Day late afternoon. Here is a little summary of my day-

  • It is sunny if not too warm. I appreciated all the bird songs on my morning walk, as well as all the flowers in bloom- what a delight!
  • My husband and I got some coffee and frittata for breakfast after dropping off my son for his volunteer gig.
  • I bought myself some tulips that I also need to use for painting props this week!
  • The only major chore I did today was laundry, and make tomorrow’s lunches.
  • My husband took care of food prep- this was a biggie!
  • On Saturday night the adults ventured out for drinks and dessert after dinner in the bustling neighbourhood on a proper warm day for the (maybe?) first time this year! The non-adult was busy doing his piano practice at home.
  • Heading out to dinner in 30 minutes, when I realized I had a post to write for tomorrow!
  • Found an Indigo gift card at home, and after my husband venting about how gift cards always get wasted, I promptly ordered myself a Jane Austen letters book with the said gift card.
  • Watched 2 episodes of Mad Men- once with homemade chai that I did not make.
  • My son made me a bookmark with Mother’s Day message to use in my new book.
  • We did a group hug to start the morning.

Overall, a great relaxing day. A big contrast to last Sunday!

But the greatest gift is definitely to have a family that allows me to be a mother of the most amazing boy I know!
