Here are few things from my life right now..
Election Night

Monday was a late nighter for me- 11 pm bedtime! Because we were up watching the elections in Canada unfold as the night went on. It was like a thrilling match with results pouring in and numbers going up and down. I know this was a super serious business for my country, and I voted with that gravity. But watching the results is more entertainment than anything. Because the results will be what they will be. But seeing the drama is a reality show without knowing how things will play out and what the end result will be. Needless to say, I had to take a nap on Tuesday afternoon!
Books on the go:
The Art of the Interesting by Lorraine Besser

The premise of this non fiction is that happiness is fleeting, and it comes and goes at its own accord. So rather than running behind happiness trying to catch it to live a good life, it’s better to find interesting things to enjoy a good life- things that captivate our minds, engage our thoughts, change our perspective. The book also goes on to dive into how to develop an interesting mindset and harness the power of novelty, and have adventures. I am only one-third of the way through. I think the second half of the book will be more interesting for me, but finding time to read has been hard, with a busy week and weekend. Hoping to dig deep into this book rest of this book.
Jane Austen at Home by Lucy Worsley

This is my audible listen narrated by the author. It’s a book about the life of details of Jane Austen, and it’s long at over 17 hours! I am a big Jane Austen fan, or rather of her work. So it was time for me to learn a bit about her life, which I knew barely anything about. This is a great book for that. Written in a conversational way, and the author’s exuberance pouring out in her reading really makes me feel like she’s talking to me! This intimate account of Jane Austen’s life without gloss but told with excitement is a wonderful listen, and I sure am enjoying it.
New Stationary to enjoy

I have a neon pink Charan d’Ache mechanical pencil that my husband gifted to me this weekend (I was in need of a good pencil to carry around to make notes on the go). And I LOVE the brightness of it! It is not ignorable. It is sturdy and solid to hold. It feels great to write with. But my favourite part has to be the colour 🙂 And new stationary is always a delight for me…I remember loving the time just before school started when I was a kid and I had new textbooks and notebooks and pencils etc, and all the excitement I had around the smell of new paper and sharpening brand new pencils- the possibilities they hold…
And that’s all I have to say today 🙂
