Sunday Night.
Hubby’s turn to make dinner.
The easiest, and most yummy go to: Homemade Pizza with store bought frozen pizza dough.
We haven’t had this in a few weeks. So we are all looking forward to it 🙂
The pizza dough is bought from a lovely local Italian prepared food store Petti.
It has been thawed and left to proof.
Some interesting toppings have been procured- either from home, or from the grocery store. The going to the grocery store to find the right toppings is part of the dinner making experience for my husband, who, unlike me, loves grocery shopping!
We have everything. The dough is looking good.
But now the BIG question arises…what toppings actually go on each of the 2 pizzas.
I am out of this discussion. I only want the finished product. I take one day off from dinner making, and just expect to be served some decent food.
But it still is a big question. My husband calls for my son. He comes down from working on his homework.
This is important stuff.
They list out the ingredients. They make a list of two combinations. There is some back and forth. Discussions. Throwing out of ideas. It gets loud. Things get written.
Finally the list is made.
Teenager goes back to his homework.
Husband goes into the kitchen to prep.
I peek at the list, and this is what I find:
Pizza # 1:
Tomato sauce
Bocconcini cheese
Basil
Zucchini
Yellow Pepper
Pizza # 2:
Artichoke Truffle Pesto
Cheddar cheese
Figs
Onion
Artichokes
Hmmm…this looks interesting. Just reading that, and then smelling the dough as hubby starts pulling it into shape gets my stomach to rumble…
I can’t wait. But I have to wait a while, with nothing really to do.
Writing this blogpost is how I bide my time.
Soon, soon, I soothe my stomach. Not too long now…And no work from me- how glorious- I remind myself.
And then finally,
