I am so glad to meet you. And I am happy that you’re reading my words.
I hope you find it somewhat entertaining, or of some value, or maybe just something that inspires you in any way or form.
I am inspired to start this blog with many intentions. Here is my list:
I love words
I love reading them. I love writing them. I love love love drowning myself in them. So what better way to be connected to words deeply than to read a lot (I do! And I am proud of myself for that), and finally to start writing this blog.
Writing more consistently
I have attempted to write in various different formats over the years. You may have heard of the Morning Pages, made famous by writer Julia Cameron. I do that in the mornings most days, and it helps me organize my days and clarify stuff stuck in my mind. I have attempted NaNoWriMo a couple of times. I have taken creative writing courses- both for writing short stories, and novel writing. I have also journaled at nights, and found it hard to stick to that over a longer period of time. I figured accountability may be my way to write more and write more consistently. So here I am!
Inspired for simplicity
I am inspired by blog writers that I read on a regular basis. The simplicity of their writing (not high brow, or about complicated topics) gives me courage that I too can write regularly about the simple things my life is made of. No need for analysis of the political situation or medical papers etc. Not for me anyways!
Getting Better
I want to improve my writing over time. To become a better communicator. To become a cleaner thinker. What better way than to write a lot, right?
I want to slow down
I feel like I notice more clearly, both my thoughts, and my surroundings if I have to verbalize them. So here’s to being more intentional in one’s life.
Record keeping
I would love to have a record of my time, my life and my thoughts build up over time on this blog. I have dreams of having years worth of blog posts to look back on and see my transformation over the years. And the hope is to grow as a human over the rest of my life. Hopefully that happens right? Both the consistent writing, and the growing that is 🙂
So now you know what this blogging is about for me. Wish me luck, and I hope I keep you engaged enough with my words and stories.
Here’s to consistency and the love of words…
