1: Really enjoying the easy reading of this book…
I am interested in the topic- that is Van Gogh’s art. The story is narrated from the point of view of the character of Johanna Van Gogh- Vincent’s sister in-law who brought his art out into the world. So a historical fiction, and full of juicy easy reading details. I am so happy I picked it out from a Little Free Library near me. My next read is William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, which means having this fast-paced easy interesting book for contrast before that is a good idea, right?
2: I am taking a deload week at the gym this week and next…
Which means easier and fewer workouts, and some yoga and LISS thrown in for good measure. So delightful to not push through this week. My brain could use both the extra time that not doing a full-on workout provides to me, and the idea of doing easier fun things…yay!
3: Found me the right “planner”!
I found me a journal/notebook in my stash to make my DIY planner with. It’s the right size, with the right heft, and decent quality pages. Now only to find the one afternoon this year to actually make the said planner on. Oh, and I guess I better get to thinking about my spreads and how I want to organize it, right?
4: I winged a recipe!
And it turned out fantastic! I made a savory baked oatmeal for breakfast with mushrooms, onions, cottage cheese, herbs, and tomato sauce. Oh and grated cheddar cheese. Breakfast on some days is now easier thanks to this tray of my winged recipe. The only problem is that I cannot duplicate it! Since I never really measured anything- eeck!
5: We PIGGED OUT!
At Bonjour Brioche, a French bakery and cafe, we had brunch on Saturday morning before dropping off our son at his leadership program…See those chunks of butter on the baguette?! I couldn’t believe it when I first saw it, and enjoyed it very much! It reminded me of my childhood treat of white bread with big chunks of butter that I would have when my parents were napping in the afternoon, and I needed a snack- easy-peasy and OH SO satisfying to an 8 year old!! 🙂
