I have been going to bed at 8:30-9 pm. By 8:30 my eyes want to close and my body to lay flat. And I am listening. It feels amazing to wake up at 5-5:30 fully awake and ready to take on the day. And maybe I overdo it, because I am tired by the afternoon.
But hey, this whole jet-lag thing is getting better. And it feels good to finally have some energy back, atleast for part of the day- the important part of the day that counts AKA gym time 🙂
And once I’m home from the gym, well, I am ready for a nap, and then ready for bed again at 8:30. I am sure this whole thing will go away soon. But since I am sleepy most of the day, it’s on my mind a lot. And I am not truly complaining. Because it does give me a chance to slow down and enjoy the rest.
Yes, work is suffering. If I put in 2 hours a day, I called it a win last week. Hopefully this week I will be up and running full steam.
Besides tiredness, my latest obsession is sprouting. I will have a separate post for this later this week…maybe as my frugality post of the week.
Morning yoga is continuing. But only getting my sequence in. No new learning happened this past week. Again, hopefully new learnings will happen this week with an earlier wake up time, and more energy. And I did do the sequence of Ashtanga poses that I am given by my Mysore teacher all week in Paris too thanks to my very handy travel yoga mat that goes everywhere with me. So the 100 Day project continues unhindered.
I did do my complete gym workouts last week, but I didn’t try to up the weights. I was already feeling shaky with the old weights- meaning either it’s the tiredness, or a little drop in muscle over the one week of me indulging in a variety of pastries, and not getting my hands on whey protein in Paris (seriously, they were pretty clueless about protein supplements in all the grocery stores and pharmacies I visited!).
I baked a sourdough loaf this weekend. That gave me a lot of pleasure. As always. I don’t know what it is about baking a sourdough loaf that makes me so very happy and satisfied in life. I am so happy to bring this back in my life this year.
I started reading my March Shakespeare play today…As You Like It. After the history plays of Henry IV last two months, I am really excited to dig into a light intelligent comedy. The character of Rosalind, as I know from watching productions of this play, is smart and funny. Which makes me eager to get to know her in the original text.
Social time with my bookclub buddies, and quality time with both my boys happened last week which was delightful.
The exciting new thing that I did with my son was attend a commuting book club at his high school discussing a graphic novel with other highschoolers, some parents and some teachers…so fun! And the potluck treats were quite the spread. My son was the only boy student there, but I think he enjoyed it. We are hoping to make it to the next one in May as well 🙂 And it fitted perfectly in our Thursday date slot…but doing something a little different this time 🙂
That was my last week update. Ready to move on from having a perpetually tired body and heavy eyes to doing good things and hard things this week. Wish me luck!
