What a weekend we just had…Friday was Halloween with it’s own madness. Friday night and Saturday night were the World Series games (baseball) between Toronto Blue Jays and LA Dodgers…sadly Toronto lost. And Sunday was the time change back to EST.
With all this drama, both body and mind need a break. Not to mention, it’s Monday. Which means a super-strength Monday Grace may be required to get through today.
But so far I feel great this morning. Probably because my body thinks it got to sleep in an extra hour. And I am on top of my will power and decision-making regarding good food, using time well, and getting on with important things.
Does that mean, a nap is not required? Absolutely not! A nap would probably help me with keeping this good feeling going for the second half of the day, and so I am going to schedule it in. Followed by a visit to the gym.
The other exciting thing we did this weekend that hasn’t happened in a few years- probably not since the COVID pandemic, is a visit through IKEA. I know, it sounds funny. But we left for IKEA early Saturday afternoon for a good long lunch at their cafe, followed by a tour through the entire showroom. And it was a fun afternoon! We didn’t really need anything. But IKEA makes interesting products, and they have a good layout that feels like a walk through a museum. So we decided to do it. And my son has good memories from IKEA from when he was little and would play in their children’s area. He was motivated to go for that reason.
The IKEA trip was great, but I couldn’t believe how tired I felt after. I guess I am not used to all that visual stimulation since I don’t ever go to malls or shopping in big stores. I needed a quiet sit-down when we got home to recuperate.
Thankfully, we had no plans for Sunday, and an extra hour to enjoy the quiet day. A nap, a morning coffee walk with hubby, food prep, laundry, making meals…that was Sunday.
I believe that because it was such a quiet uneventful Sunday, but with prep that got me ready for the week, I feel so good today. And I want to keep this feeling going with a nap, and getting things done, and eating good food.
How is your Monday going?
