Stories, ideas and musings to make sense of this thing called life..

Thankful Thursday with people and inspiration

This week I am thankful for…

The Weather!

My morning fall walk in warm weather is delightful!

It has been a gift of a week- the day time temperatures are touching 20 degrees Celsius. And it’s been sunny and beautiful!

I love going out for my morning walk without pulling on my gloves- life is great! Also, walking just happens at other times during the day because I want to be out…And I also get to work outside in my backyard because, fall and warm…

This Book

The very big Rembrandt book my husband found for me and brought home

that my husband hauled for me from 10 minutes away from the house. Someone was giving it away in front of their house, and my husband spotted it, and brought it home. He didn’t tell me, and it was sitting on the coffee table. When I walked in later, my eyes JUST POPPED OUT- both at the size of the book, and the quality. It sure is a treasure trove!! And not cheap!!

The prints in the book are EXCELLENT!

For my community of artists…

Our table with drinks and discussing notes in a pub.

This week I met my community of the West Toronto Artists for a meeting at a local pub. We discussed how our art show went from last week and the week before. And it’s just lovely to hang out with people who share the same vision, and work together. We looked to the future, to figure out where we want to head next. We laughed, we shared drinks. Just a good productive inspiring time together on a weekday evening.

For discovering a new coffee shop

Enjoying an impromptu date at Creeds Coffee Bar in Toronto on a Saturday morning

and having an impromptu mini-date with my husband on Saturday morning, after we left our son for his day-long leadership training. We’ve driven past this place many times. But finally we had time. We had nothing much else on the agenda. And some coffee was needed (ok, not needed, just desired…). And so we stopped.

The coffee was great. So were the treats we got. And, the barista offered us some of his hand churned butter with the savory muffin we ordered- YUM! Now that we told our son about the place, he wants to go soon too 🙂

For my local art-supply stores…

Above ground Art Supplies store in the Junction…for when the inspiration strikes!

I have two amazing ones right in my neighbourhood! Store 1 and store 2. Which means that when the inspiration strikes, and I want to JUST GET STARTED on a new project, I just pop in and get what I need and begin!

I am very excited for this new project, and I am so glad I was able to get my supplies quickly without having to drive, or wait for shipping to arrive. Because time is tight, and motivation is high. And I have begun 🙂

Bonus Gratitude:

For being inspired and motivated to get going on this project!
