Thankful Thursday is here again! To remind me to count my blessings 🙂
The list is simple and sweet again. Let’s see…
I am drawing a ton!
Ok not a ton, but getting some amount of drawing time every single day. Which to me means that there is sanity in my life…
I know I talked about my drawing practice last week. But really, the gifts of this practice increase my level of happiness as I spend more time with it. I see definite improvement, not only in my drawing (since I am practicing that), but also in my painting, as a result!Â
I know it sounds crazy, but drawing makes me want to look at things more closely- the shape of things, how shadows look, the angles- all of these add to my painting skills as well.
I really hope I don’t ignore my drawing practice for long ever again. I realize there will be busy seasons of life when I may put it away for a while, but I always want to keep coming back to it- both for sanity, and for getting better with my artistic skills over time.
I have an Art Show starting this week!
So happy and thankful to be showing works at the North By West show at the Northern Contemporary Gallery in a group show with 27 other artists starting yesterday…It’s still hard for me to believe that I have my art at a level that I can show at a gallery…it’s a gift of my life.
Live Show opportunity…
We went to see and hear the sage words of Matty Matheson, and learn a few things about living life with a very different perspective. Matty’s down-to-earthiness was so very endearing, and his way of thinking was very inspiring, to live a life of connection, giving and keep on working at one’s goals. Thank you to Wealthsimple and TLDR podcast for this opportunity! Read about my experience here.
For Succession!
The fantastic TV show, that my husband and I just found out about…I know we are late to the Succession party as the show has already run it’s 4 seasons and is over. BUT, better late than not ever finding it right? It is SO good! The drama, the twists and turns, the depiction of the ultra-rich people…it may be set in modern times and in a non-ficticious world, but it is fantastical for me. And I am thoroughly enjoying the brilliant acting, the dialogues, the way the story keeps us on the edge all the time…
Lovely Fall…
We are gently falling into fall at this point. The days are still warm and sunny, the mornings can be chilly. The colours are slowly taking on the world around me…Knowing how bad people have had it with Helene and Milton, more recently, I feel blessed to have this nice weather, and the gentle slide into the cool season to enjoy…
