Stories, ideas and musings to make sense of this thing called life..

A Post of Nothing Much

Some days I pick up my laptop to write a blog post, and wonder what I would write today…I have nothing. I feel completely empty of words.

But I have made this commitment to myself to post a blog on weekdays, so here I am. Writing something. Whatever comes to mind. Which is a whole lot of nothing at this point in time.

Tomorrow I may have more ideas. Today I have none.

I am writing this on Monday morning after the long weekend. A long weekend means an extra dose on Monday Grace. Because we get extra debauched with not having commitments and schedules over the extra day off.

So if I have nothing to write today, that’s ok, right?

Monday grace is nothing but my way of taking care of myself when I feel just a little bit more vulnerable with getting back into the saddle of everyday responsibilities. Especially in the morning. I wonder if other people have this concept in some shape or form. I take it easy on myself. I still try to do everything that I do other days, but in easier or shorter doses.

A shorter yoga practice.

A few minutes longer in bed.

Making use of granola from the jar for breakfast instead of cooking eggs.

Napping in the afternoon if the body wants it.

A shorter blog post 🙂

And that makes the start of the new week not such a big mountain to climb in my head.

I remember not sleeping well at all on Sunday nights when I worked at my corporate job. The anxiety of starting at full speed right away on Monday was too much for me to take. I didn’t know of Monday Grace then. And flexibility in my life was limited at that point.

But, we find our ways as we get older. To make our lives that little bit more comfortable in some shape or form helps. Every little bit of self care helps. Because life also gets more complicated in the middle of our years.

So here’s my Monday Grace. A little bit more give. A short blog post, mostly full of nothing…

And because you’re reading this on a Tuesday…well, it’s time to get on with things!
