Thankful Thursday is back again! Let’s see, what am I thankful for this week…
Drawing

I am so thankful that my drawing mojo is coming back! It is such a joy of my life but it just feels so hard sometimes to pick up my sketchbook and look for a subject to draw. At that point, it’s just easier to let go. And then days pass, and more days. That makes me feel terrible.
But the moment I do start scratching some shapes and lines in my sketchbook, I feel the instant joy of drawing. That is my inner compass telling me to keep on drawing. The fight between my laziness and my inner joy is real. Too bad I let the laziness win sometimes.
Hopefully it will stay dormant for the next little while while I scribble some shapes on paper 🙂
For Flowers

My husband got me flowers. And usually he does that often. But with the holidays and us being away, it has been a while since we had fresh blooms. So when I did have them, it was so exciting to have them…also because for me, they are a great subject to draw in all the multiple ways that I can think of drawing them.
So I am thankful to my husband for keeping me furnished with flowers
(Very romantic 🙂 ), and for giving me lovely subjects to draw!
For A Nice Breakfast mid-week

My son has been home a lot this week and last because it’s exam time in high school here. So one morning last week, he came along with us adults to our weekly breakfast date. And we had a lovely meal at a nice local cafe with quiches, and coffee and hot chocolate. It was a nice treat for the middle of the week for us to have my son’s company and time together.
For Coyotes

So last week, as I drove my car to the back of the house, where there is a little ravine, there were 4 coyotes hanging out there in the snow amongst the trees. While I was scared to come out of the trees, it was a beautiful sight! I mean wild creatures, looking healthy, in the wilderness of the woods with snow- it was hard to imagine that we are in the middle of the biggest city of the country!
Even with my fear of the animals -and rightly so since they are wild!- I was happy to see wildness and natural beauty right behind my house…so thankful for where we live. So thankful for this sight…
For Good Books

I have so many good books in my life right now…I just have to find the time to read them all. But because they are so enticing, I am always excited to read them! I have had to suspend some of my holds at the library so I can have time to read these first before I get bombarded with more books. I am dipping my toes in all of them here and there because it’s hard to stay away. And the best part- they keep me away from my phone and scrolling through silly random videos on social media! That’s a big win for the books- no?! And definitely for me 🙂 Thank You Books!
What are you thankful for this week?
